AWA joins the Corvette customer GT3 program in 2024, running two Z06 GT3.Rs in the IMSA GTD class, after moving from LMP2 in 2023.

C17Media gave me a call this summer, asking for my assistance in designing the pair of brand new cars for AWA Inc., the Ontario based racing team.

Maintaining the signature yellow and black colours of title sponsor, Orlando Inc., I had to make sure I used them in a way that is completely different from anything Corvette’s factory cars have done in the past.

While the original intent was to use a green version of the same livery, the #17 went through some massive changes. Anthony Mantella drove the change to a 60’s inspired racing livery, utilizing a traditional racing stripe along the car, and numbers inside of roundels as was seen on Corvettes on track at the Rolex 24 in the 1960’s. He and C17Media made some excellent colour choices, going for a teal/green/blue chameleon like base colour, with “antique white” and crimson red accent colours. I was tasked with bringing these together to fit on the very modern lines on the new Z06, which was quite the challenge, but I feel we pulled it off!
